Why wool?

Wool has the ability to absorb large amounts of moisture vapor without feeling wet and clammy. The wool fibers "natural climate zone" effect is especially advantageous in a pillow.

Large quantities of body moisture are produced in the head area. The moisture and the pressure of the head are concentrated in a relatively small area, with head weight and movement tending to force the moisture down into the pillow filling.

Wool has the ability to spring back into shape after bending, creasing or folding.

Available in light, medium, or heavy fill.

As a general guideline, side sleepers need heavy fill pillows, back sleepers need medium fill pillows and stomach sleepers need light fill pillows.

Did you know that most people are NOT allergic to wool? They are actually having a painful response to the course prickly fibers. Some people are more sensitive to this than others. Why are wool fibers so course? It's because of the carbonizing required to remove excess vegetable matter from the wool. It makes the wool fibers weak and then they split, becoming prickly. Also the shorter the fibers are, the better the chance of prickle because there are more fiber ends per unit of fabric. The wool used in our products does NOT go through the carbonizing process. Only wool that is free from prickly vegetable matter is used so that no carbonizing is required. The fibers used in our products are never short! This results in a much softer wool that does not cause prickle.
